After our trip to Texas, we were headed back to Colorado to do two drops in Colorado Springs and Aurora.
I can never resist the view of Pikes Peak!
We spent the night at a TA Travel Center in Commerce City, CO. This place is always busy! There is a man who rents a shop inside where he makes vinyl lettering for trucks and things. We inquired about him making a t-shirt that says Semi Suite Life on it, but decided to wait for another time.
We stopped at a rest area adorned with a lovely statue, teepees and metal work buffalo grazing in the grass.
The Welcome Center was on the border of Colorado and Nebraska.
There is a beautifully colored archway in Nebraska with eagle statues atop either side.
We spent a night in Alda, NE at a TA. We have become conflicted with where we choose to stay because Love’s gives more points for fueling and purchasing merchandise, but TA and Petro have far better showers.
We certainly left the dry heat in Texas, but the heat was still an undertone in the farther Eastern states. We experienced a lot of humidity during this leg of our journey.
Iowa was our next state, and we happened to stop at this rest stop that had a calligraphy pen sculpture as well as the word Iowa scrolled across the front from ground to rooftop.
I decided to snap a few photos of the landscape of Iowa, it was so green and peaceful. I really enjoy our drive through the states where we don’t run into major cities and many interstate connections. its just me, my trucker and some tunes on Pandora.
