We have been rolling, nearly a dozen states in the last week and a half!
Unfortunately it was pretty dark when we entered Illinois but I got the ever personally coveted state sign!
It’s wonderful to travel long stretches of green land and then spend five minutes going through a big city. While I tend to get a little stressed about concentrated traffic (especially after a long lonely stretch of one Interstate) I do enjoy seeing the city scape!
So beautiful and so green!
It was neat driving into West Virginia, seeing old brick buildings and homes nestled into hill sides. I have family in Ohio and West Virginia and really hoped to see them but we have to follow our gps route which was too far away from their cities so all we can do is hope to have another load assignment in the future that will take us closer. It’s very difficult to gauge when and where your route will take you so when hoping you’ll be able to see family, my execution of planning is usually notifying family or friends that we are traveling through their state and that as we get closer we will let them know. Sometimes we run out of drive hours and have to park for the night or are on a time schedule and dont have enough time to stop. But you always hope you will get another run in the future that will allow for a reunion.
