This was the beginning of our drive past Sparks, Nevada:
I was sad that by the time we reached Utah, it was dark out, but the full moon sure made for an amazing view of this first timers trip through the salt flats.
The beginning of our adventure began in Utah with James having some training on how to strap down a flat bed. What we thought to be a short training session turned into nearly 5 hours. I had to stay on the truck so I kept myself busy organizing and updating our new Facebook page. James ran into his Phase 1 trainer from when he first learned to drive. This guy was an amazing trainer and James still keeps in touch with him over the phone.
We left Saturday from the England yard and headed to Colorado by way of Wyoming.
I loved seeing the difference in terrain, mostly the lack of civilization. Seeing horse and cow spotted mountain ranges was beautiful!
We stopped for the night at a truck stop and promptly went to bed, excited to reach Colorado today and see James’ brother, Curtis.
We had to stop in Laramie to get more load straps for James’ new trailer. He had to call his Dispatch Manager for a check authorization to get his straps… glad they paid for it (over $240 for 6!). The people of Laramie were so very nice!
I will tell you what, Colorado was nothing like I expected. Maybe I watched Dumb and Dumber too much and thought all of CO was like Aspen, I’m not sure. But the best part of our run was meeting up with Curtis.
Tomorrow we head to Henderson to pick up our new trailer. I kind of wish truck stops had a “lights out” hour so we could enjoy this beautiful night sky! Happy Easter everyone!
